Mass Effect 3 is a fitting finale to the Mass Effect trilogy, which kicked off in 2007. The story follows Commander Shepard on his or her journey through space. As you make decisions throughout the game, your actions affect how events play out and who lives or dies. You’ll see memorable characters and familiar locations on your journey through the galaxy. And combat is fast-paced and fun! If you’re looking for an immersive experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end—or if you’re just looking for something new to play—then Mass Effect 3 is definitely worth checking out.
Final hours of mass effect 3 review
Mass Effect 3 is a great game, with strong fundamentals and a solid storyline. It offers a lot of content, including several side missions that are worthwhile. The RPG elements are well-designed and the controls are easy to pick up.
You’ll see familiar characters and locations on your journey through the galaxy.
The game is set in the same universe as Mass Effect 1 and 2. You’ll see characters from previous games, and visit locations like Earth, The Citadel, Sur’Kesh, Ilos, Horizon and more.
The combat is fast-paced and fun
One of the most important aspects of any game is its combat. With most games, you’re either engaged in some sort of first-person shooter or strategy game. BioWare does something different with Mass Effect 3: instead of a third-person shooter, it’s a third-person cover shooter. As such, you’ll be spending most of the time running from cover to cover while firing at enemies that are shooting back at you.
Unlike other shooters though, Mass Effect 3’s combat can get pretty intense when there are waves and waves of enemies coming at you all at once—especially during one particular mission where there is a lot going on around an open area where your team members have been captured (you’ll have to free them). This type of gameplay has been done before but it’s nice to see that BioWare did their best to make the player feel like they had some control over their situation instead of just being another bullet sponge in this game world where everyone else seems too powerful for anything less than multiple rockets directly aimed at them could stop them (more on this later).
Storyline
You’ll have to make plenty of tough choices as you play through Mass Effect 3. The game features over 100 different decisions, ranging from small moments that determine how your character interacts with others to major plot points that can change the course of the game. Some of these decisions may not be as obvious as others, so it’s important to pay attention in order to get the best ending possible.
The amount of freedom afforded by this system is impressive—more so considering how many people are involved in creating a game like Mass Effect 3: hundreds upon hundreds of artists, programmers and voice actors contribute their talents toward creating experiences players will remember for years to come.
Choices matter because no two players will experience everything in exactly the same way; each person’s story is unique because it’s influenced by their own choices rather than just being experienced passively as part of someone else’s story (like when watching someone else play).
Replay value
The game has a lot of replay value, which is something that I really appreciate. You can play through again and make different choices, or you can play it again but get a different ending. There are also other things to do within the game that have nothing to do with the story, such as finding all the different landmarks on planets and completing side quests like helping out someone with their dog or gathering resources for them in exchange for equipment upgrades.
Trilogy of game
Mass Effect 3 is a fitting end to the trilogy of games that kicked off in 2007. The game’s main story arc wraps up nicely, but it also leaves enough loose ends to make you wish for another adventure with Commander Shepard and his crew. I don’t know if we’ll see one in this universe, but you can bet there will be spin-off titles or an entirely new series based on the beloved franchise. This one ends on a high note though, which makes it a great way to finish what has been an epic journey from beginning to end.
When you think of Mass Effect 3, it’s easy to get the impression that the game was rushed out the door in order to meet some unreasonable deadline set by Electronic Arts. It’s true that there were some bugs and glitches, but for a game as expansive as this one (and with as many endings), it would be nearly impossible to catch everything before release.
The truth is that a lot of care and effort went into this game. Even though I’m not usually a fan of games that are linear from start to finish, Mass Effect 3 has enough replay value to keep me coming back for more. The story alone is enough reason for me to love this game; but when you add in all the other great aspects such as characters and combat systems, then there’s no doubt why Mass Effect 3 deserves its place among my all-time favorite video games!
Conclusion
Mass Effect 3 is an epic conclusion to a trilogy of games that started with the original Mass Effect in 2007. The characters, setting and story we’ve come to love over the past few years are all here, but Bioware has taken some risks with new gameplay elements and systems. While these changes don’t always work out for the best—and I still think this could have been a great game without them—they at least show that BioWare hasn’t rested on its laurels since ME2 came out three years ago.
