Your Design Visit – What To Expect From Your Fitted Wardrobe Designer.
What the Designer Will Measure
Expect the designer to take note of the following details about your room: the width and height of your walls, the ceiling height, the depth of any alcoves, the projection of your skirting board(s), any pipe runs and the size of any radiators. All of these features need to be incorporated into your fitted wardrobe design and even the smallest feature could be a problem if not allowed for.
Questions About How You Use the Space
The designer will ask you for examples of what you have and how you use your current wardrobe space. This could be how many long items such as dresses you have to hang, whether you prefer to have drawers or shelves for folded items, how much shoe space you need and how many accessories you have to store.
Samples and Finishes
Most designers will bring with them a variety of door finishes, handles and interior materials for you to see how they will look in your room. The Quote Document
The quote should list all the dimensions, all the materials used, all the internal fittings used, and the price for the service. It should state what the price includes and what it doesn’t. Make sure you know your rights in regards to the service you are commissioning, such as the amount of deposit that can be taken and how long you have to wait for the work to be commenced.
How to Prepare Beforehand
Please ensure your current wardrobe has been cleared from the area in order for the designer to accurately assess the space available. Bringing along examples of furniture and fittings you like as well as highlighting the must-haves to the designer will ensure that everything is captured within the conversation and reflected in your design.
