Revolving a Power of Attorney is relatively easy to do once you know how to do it, but failing to do one of the points below could cause problems in the future.
Check Which Document You Hold
Check whether you have created a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) or Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) and whether it has been registered with the Office of the Public Guardian. A registered document requires special steps to cancel it.
Complete a Revocation Deed
You need to sign a formal document (a deed) and it is recommended that this is done in front of a witness. Your solicitor can draft a deed for you within a day or so and check it for you.
Notify the Office of the Public Guardian

Tell the Attorney in Writing
Write to your attorney telling them that you have revoked their Power of Attorney. Send a copy of your letter to them.
Recover the Original and Notify Third Parties
Request that your attorney hands over the original Power of Attorney documents to you and then inform all third parties such as banks and building societies that copies of the document held by them should be destroyed.
